Description

A creamy and cheesy pasta dish inspired by the classic Philly cheesesteak.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound beef steak, sliced thin
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned.
  3. Add the sliced bell pepper and onion to the skillet. Cook until softened.
  4. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Gradually whisk in the milk. Cook until thickened.
  6. Add the garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in the provolone and cheddar cheese until melted.
  7. Combine the macaroni, cheese sauce, and beef mixture. Mix well.
  8. Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
