Description
A warm and comforting dessert made with tender apples and a crispy topping, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- ½ cup light brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Dash of salt
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 4 small Granny Smith apples, chopped into 1-inch chunks
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup light brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Dash of salt
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and butter. Use a fork or pastry blender to mix until it forms small crumbs. Refrigerate while preparing the apples.
- Lightly spray the Instant Pot with non-stick cooking spray.
- In the pot, stir together melted butter, lemon juice, vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add chopped apples and toss to coat. Pour in the water.
- Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the apples.
- Seal the lid and cook on High Pressure (Manual) for 1 minute.
- When the timer beeps, carefully quick release the pressure. Start slowly to ensure only steam escapes, then fully release.
- For a crunchier topping, spoon servings into an oven-safe dish and broil for 1–2 minutes until golden.
Notes
- Serve warm for best flavor.
- Can be topped with ice cream or whipped cream.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
