Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 package of pie crusts (or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour. Mix well.
  3. Roll out one pie crust and place it in a pie dish.
  4. Fill the crust with the apple mixture and dot with butter.
  5. Cover with the second pie crust, seal the edges, and cut slits for steam to escape.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
  7. Let cool before serving.
