Ingredients

- 6 cups of sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 package of pie crusts (or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour. Mix well.
- Roll out one pie crust and place it in a pie dish.
- Fill the crust with the apple mixture and dot with butter.
- Cover with the second pie crust, seal the edges, and cut slits for steam to escape.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.

- For a richer flavor, consider adding a pinch of salt to the apple mixture.
